My way of doing things?
"Who you let speak into your life is so important. It’s more than just the words they say, what they say will teach you, but who they are will change you!"
John C Maxwell, author, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership.
For me, mentoring is more than a tick-box exercise, it’s a personal commitment to helping you unlock your full potential. So, if (when) we start working together, I’d be on your side. Accessible. Responsive. Supportive. In there for the long run.
So, forget any idea that I’ll be coming at you with a one-size-size-fits-all cookie-cutter approach, whether we are working in a group or one-to-one I’ll be looking to create a tailored mentoring plan that works for you within that program.
In other words, I want us to be working as a partnership that works for us both. That means I’m big on relationships. In fact, I’ve built my entire career on win-win interactions with my customers. So, if you are looking for someone who xxx then sorry I’m not your guy.
In terms of support, I’ll listen first and then provide what I hope is empathetic guidance — whether that’s providing the motivation to get you through mental blocks, picking you up when things go wrong (and we both know they will), or pushing you out of your comfort zone by challenging your assumptions. Put that together and you’ll be getting constructive feedback with the bullshit taken out.

You’re probably working in the tech sector. Sure, I could bring value if you were in retail, healthcare or finance for instance, but probably I can bring best value if you are in the manufacturing or tech space.

Where do we go from here?
